The voice of the Metauro

On the roman bridge, in the heart of Fermignano, the Ode to the Metauro written by Torquato Tasso has been collocated on a lectern. From the interior of the tower that stands next to the bridge, you can hear the sound of the river, that crosses the town, born on its left bank.

The life of Fermignano has always been strictly connected to its river: the one of the inhabitants of the small town, as well as that of those who live in the country. The moments of leisure, the streams, the inspiration for the poets and painters, the building materials, the energy for the paper mill and then for the woolen mill: Fermignano has lived strictly connected to its river.
